Color is my love language.

My first job out of design school was specifying paint colors for a housing developer. I would take it as far to the edge as possible so these homes in a sea of homes could have some piece of unique identity from brazen belly bands to the jewel toned front doors I really went for it (circa 2005). When I formulated a botanical skincare line I was able to craft each product with a rich and dreamy glowing hue from natural plant dyes.

In the interiors world I would help clients select (high end marble) countertop and backsplash materials (and I mean thousands over the years) and there was a time when everyone wanted white. A client would hold a white swatch and asked me to match it. I would return from the sample room with 20 different white tiles and I would watch their soul sink when I revealed that rainbows actually exist in all of the various undertones of white. I got very good at understanding hidden colors beneath a dominant hue and how they interact to create harmonious schemes.

Most recently I have been painting and dying textiles which has been the most thrilling inspired by some time I spent soaking in the wonders of the desert and sea while living in Baja. These are a few of my photographs. Just a personal collection of color (and texture) and the way light moves into tone and value creating the drama and depth that shape human emotions, behaviors, and energy.
