Elegant Savage Skin Potions

Elegant Savage is natural skincare line Kristen started in 2009. “Drink the Milk of Paradise” was a brand tagline from the poem, Kubla Kahn (By Sir Samuel Taylor Coleridge) about the enchanted, exotic place known as Xanadu. Xanadu’s Oasis body polish was the first product in the line. Kristen sourced her healing ingredients from all over the world so the brand overall had global inspired theme that highlighted the ancient plant wisdom passed down from indigenous culture. Kristen’s intention was to bring awareness around the people and places where the ingredients were sourced. She built the brand around this desire.

She would give back a percentage of profits to various organization that supported protecting indigenous people and their lands. Photography of botanicals were manipulated to create visual imagery across the brand. The product labels evolved over time. Kristen learned to wear many hats including marketing where she grew her digital audience organically and used the brand to network while growing an essential oil business to over a million dollars of sales a year for the past decade.
